Dedication Ceremony and Open House at Rural Health Clinic at Southern Inyo Hospital
Lone Pine, CA – July 15, 2024 – The Rural Health Clinic at Southern Inyo Hospital is proud to announce a special dedication ceremony and open house on August 1, 2024, at 510 E Locust Street in Lone Pine. The event will mark the renaming of the clinic to the “Dr. Milton Jones Rural Health Clinic” in honor of the esteemed Dr. Milton “Ben” Jones, also known as “Badwater Ben” and the “Mayor of Badwater”.
Dr. Jones dedicated over five decades of service to Southern Inyo Hospital, leaving an indelible mark on the Eastern Sierra and Death Valley communities from 1963 to 2016. His passion for medicine extended beyond traditional practice, with notable achievements in the realm of endurance sports, including participating in several Badwater races in the 1990s, finishing 3.
The renaming dedication ceremony will commence at 5:00 pm on August 1st, followed by an open house where attendees can tour the clinic facilities and learn about the services offered to the community. This event presents an opportunity for the public to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Milton Jones and his profound impact on healthcare and sports in the region.
