On 05/31/2025, at approximately 2225 hours, a 41 year old female was driving a Chevrolet Equinox and was unsafely backing out of a parking space at the Chevron gas station parking lot. As the driver backed out of the parking space, she failed to see the pedestrian cleaning the front windshield of his vehicle. The Equinox struck the pedestrian, pinning the pedestrian in between the Equinox and his personal vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to Northern Inyo Hospital with moderate injuries. Alcohol is presumed to be a factor in this collision and the driver was arrested for DUI. Bishop CHP is currently investigating this collision.
