Chester Kinney was born on July 9, 1935 in Bishop, California to, Sam and Elsie Kinney.

He entered into eternal life on August 23, 2017 in Glendale, California at the Glendale Adventist Hospital. He was 82 years old, and a lifelong resident of Bishop, California. Chester is survived by his sister Shirley Maddox, grandson Michael Miller and granddaughter Billi Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chester served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Korea.

He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator at the Standard Industrial Minerals for over 35 years. After retirement, Chester enjoyed going to the Paiute Palace Casino, and cruising the REZ and prospecting out in the mountains.

Chester is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Kinney, parents Sam and Elsie Kinney, brothers, Fred, Lawrence, Harold, and Sam Jr. and sister Dorothy Barlow, and grandsons Elden and Sam Miller.

A traditional Cry Dance will be at his residenceon Tuesday night August 29, 2017 at dusk. Funeral Services will be held onWednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Brune Mortuary. Burial will follow at Sunland Cemetey.
