State Route 120 W Reopens at Lee Vining
MONO COUNTY — Caltrans has reopened State Route 120 W at the Lee Vining gate. Following an extended snow removal operation that lasted well into June, maintenance crews completed the necessary rock work and guardrail repairs to reopen the highway. State Route 120 W has been in its winter closure since November 17. At 239 days, this is the highway’s longest closure in the past 20 years.
Vehicles are now able to reach the eastern entrance of Yosemite National Park, which remains closed at this time. For more information on the status of Tioga Pass and Tioga Road through the park, visit www.nps.gov/yose. For information on access to campgrounds and recreation areas in the Inyo National Forest outside the park, visit www.fs.usda.gov/inyo.
