The White Mountain Research Center, in collaboration with the Inyo Council for the Arts, is extending a vibrant “Call for Artists” for an upcoming fundraiser! This initiative celebrates 75 years of remarkable scientific achievement and educational endeavors in the Eastern Sierra, continuing a tradition where science beautifully intertwines with art.
Local artists are warmly invited to contribute their talents by donating artwork for this significant community celebration and fundraiser, slated for October 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for artists to gain exposure while supporting a worthy cause.
The theme for the submitted artwork is “Science in Nature,” offering a broad canvas for creative interpretation. Artists are encouraged to explore the myriad connections between the scientific world and the natural beauty that surrounds us.
The deadline for artwork submissions is July 15, 2025. The culmination of this artistic endeavor will be a silent auction and celebration held on October 18, 2025. This event promises to be a unique blend of artistic expression and scientific appreciation.
For artists seeking more information or wishing to participate, please reach out to Steven DeVanzo via email at sdevanzo@ucla.edu or by phone at 760-937-3525. Don’t miss this chance to contribute your artistic vision to a meaningful cause and be part of a special milestone for the White Mountain Research Center!
