C5 Studios is proud to present Roberta Lagomarsini; The Spirit of the Great Basin through Fiber Art.  In this celebration of the Great Basin through fiber art works of explosive color, varied perspectives and abstraction, Fiber Artist Roberta Lagomarsini presents work exploring the landscapes, peoples and the mystique of the region.

This unique show invites viewers to become immersed in the expressive capacities of Art Quilts as they reflect and explore the captivating stories, places and people found in the Great Basin.

Working improvisationally and mostly from memory, Roberta’s goal is to co-create with the viewer an experience that uniquely expresses the moods and features of the Great Basin.  She hopes “to tell the stories of the Great Basin by using my own unique point of view but in a way that invites the viewer to study the work from different viewpoints, inserting their own perspectives and memories into the quilt which completes the quilt.”  This process, she explains, creates “a piece that is evocative of the place, combines abstraction and realism, is recognizable but also allows room for viewer interpretation and interaction.”

The show opens to the public on Friday, July 19th 2024 at C5 Studios Community Arts Center with a reception with the artist from 5.30pm – 7.30pm. All are welcome!
