Inyo County Sheriffs Deputies report the arrest of a 19-year-old burglary suspect in the Lone Pine area.

Carma Roper with the Inyo Sheriffs Department reports that Jose Alfredo Covarrubias is being held in the county jail on several felony charges related to a burglary that occurred on April 5th, at about 3 a.m. in the Mountain View area of Lone Pine.

Roper reports that the suspect was arrested after trying to cash checks that belonged to the victim in the Lone Pine burglary. With the arrest, some of the stolen items have been returned to the victim, Roper says.

Covarrubias was arrested for several felonies, including possession of stolen property, forgery, and first-degree burglary. Bail was set at $100,000.
