The Broncos traveled to Ridgecrest Monday, March 3rd, for a non league matchup with Burroughs High School. The match was played at the China Lake Naval Base Golf Course and after a 40 min delay in entry to the base the Broncos had just 15 min to warm up. With the minimal warm up time and battling 20-25mph winds, the Broncos still came out on top, beating Burroughs 435 to 474.

The team showed poise and determination battling weather today, minimizing mistakes and making the hard shots. I am extremely pleased with the start of our 2025 season. Leading the way for the Broncos was Cooper Beard posting a score of 81, this was also top score for the match. Garin Pritchard had another strong showing scoring an 83, good for 2nd overall. Senior Parker Pope really came on today scoring an 85. Parker has been battling injuries from the start, so I am very impressed with the score in extreme conditions.

Rounding the scores:
Zane Nicholson 90
Francesco Toscanini 93
Reed Carpenter 95
Travis Cano 111.

Travis struggled today with the wind and nerves. He is very capable of scoring much lower so I am not worried. It’s early in the season.

I was very happy to see the Freshman , Zane, Francesco and Reed play great today. They may not think they played good, but I am happy with the scores and the progress for their first 2 high school matches.

I want to thank the Bishop Country Club for their continued support of Bronco Golf. Our season wouldn’t be possible without their generous support and commitment. Steve, Arnie, Gene, Dick snd everyone at BCC, we thank you!! Special thank you to Phil for his generous contributions to the team and amazing support.

The Broncos play their first League Match this Wednesday March 5th at home.
