Bonnie Lu Sorenson 1930 2021

Bonnie Lou Sorensen 1930-2021

Bonnie passed away Feb. 20, 2021, at the age of ninety.

Bonnie and her husband Roger had six children, Gary, Danelle, Sheila, Greg, Shanna, and Roger Jr.

Bonnie originally wanted to aspire in a career as an Air Traffic Controller but as the story goes, she met and fell in love with Roger Sorensen. They married on December 14, 1948. They moved to Holstein Iowa to manage and operate a farm. The farm life was very busy and arduous while growing corn and soybeans, raising cattle, pigs, and chickens not to mention the six kids! This is where Bonnie’s love of gardening, cooking, baking, canning, and farm animals began.

Our family moved to California in hopes of a better life. After living in California for 36 years both Roger and Bonnie retired from Mammoth Mt. Ski Area and made their home in Dyer, NV.

Bonnie’s joys in life were family and getting together, cooking, and baking and entertaining friends. She also thoroughly enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She had so much fun inviting family and friends to play cards and board games. She also found peacefulness feeding and watching varieties of birds that included hummingbirds, finches, quail, and Orioles.

Bonnie lived a very full and happy life. We miss her dearly as do many of her longtime friends.

Bonnie is survived by 13 grandchildren. Neil, Kendra, Mitchell, Alysia, Quentin, Courtney, Gregory, Brittney, Brandon, Ryan, Dustin, Clay, and Lyndsey as well as nineteen great grandchildren. In memory of our loving mom with a beautiful smile, Gary and Joyce, Danelle, Sheila, Greg and Jeri, Shanna and Henri, Roger and Tracy.
