Bishop Lions Add To Growing Pride!
Many community groups have experienced declining membership in recent years, but 2025-2026 Bishop Lions President Carole Wade (shown center) is taking membership seriously and in a growing direction. Taking advantage of the recent visitation tour by 2025-2026 NV/CA District 46 Lion Governor Paul Silva (far right) and his second-in-command 1st Vice District Governor Terry Rubald (far left), Lion President Carole helped induct new members John Marko (blue, 2nd from left) and John Allen (orange, 2nd from right) into the prideful Lions of Bishop. Both “newbies” are younger than the average Bishop Lion age level and make for a younger Bishop Lion future!
Each new member was given a 2-minute limit to speak about their past, current occupation, their family, and motivation to join Bishop Lions, and they were warned that any future self-promotion would result in an immediate fine at Lions lunch! New Lion John Allen said he joined to work and build, and mentioned the past Bishop Lion handicap ramp program, which is now on hiatus due to government building code and safety constraints. New Lion John Marko said he wanted to help local Lions in any way possible, including working the Lion food booth at the Tri-County Fairgrounds with cooking hot dogs, hamburgers, and cheeseburgers, and the semi-world-famous corndogs!
Both new members may be showcased this coming weekend at the Sunday portion of the Millpond Music Festival, where Bishop Lions will serve their almost-world-famous all-you can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 am to 10 am.
