On Tuesday, January 24, 2023 the Bishop Lady Broncos soccer team played the Mammoth Huskies at the Charles Schwab field. In the first period, Brooklyn Braaten started the team off when she put the ball in the back of the net from a pass from Ellie Crall. The second goal was scored by JuliAnna Jackson when you’re she received across from Ellie Crall. The third goal came when Elizabeth Ellsworth put the ball in the back of the net from a JuliAnna Jackson corner kick. Alyssa Buchholz scored the fourth goal from a pass from JuliAnna Jackson. The first half ended with a score 4 to 0 in favor of the Broncos.
In the second half JuliAnna Jackson scored off of a corner kick. Final score of the game was 5 to 0 in favor of the Lady Broncos.The Broncos defense held strong limiting the Mammoth Huskies to only one shot on goal. Riley Van Nest made an incredible save to prevent the Mammoth Huskies from scoring.
To date in league play the Bishop Lady Broncos defense has only allowed one goal scored by Mammoth in their first meeting. The Bishop attack has scored 66 goals in nine league games. Every player on the team has scored at least one goal this season.
The Bishop lady Broncos want to thank the Mammoth Lady Huskies for their great rivalry and their excellent sportsmanship presented during the game.
Coach Bill Dailey stated he is proud of his team and how hard they play. The Bishop lady Broncos played their strongest game of the season against a very well coached team.
