Bishop Community Christmas Parade Winners Announced

Bishop, Calif.Bishop, CA – The holiday season officially began in Bishop on Saturday, December 6th, as thousands of spectators lined Main Street for the community’s much-anticipated Annual Christmas Parade & Downtown Party. This year’s theme, “Christmas Through the Decades,” brought a festive mix of nostalgia, creativity, and holiday cheer to the heart of town.

“We were quite impressed with the creativity and hard work that went into this year’s parade entries,” said April Kress of the Bishop Chamber of Commerce. Vintage vehicles, classic music, retro costumes, and festive floats filled the parade route, highlighted by the grand marshal—Santa Claus, riding atop the Bishop Fire Department Ladder Truck.

A total of 35 groups participated, making the judging particularly challenging. While there is no financial award, winners received commemorative plaques generously sponsored by Pintail Imaging.

This year’s parade award winners include:

  • Best Use of Theme: Bishop Pickleball
  • Best Christmas Spirit: Eastern Sierra Transit Authority
  • Most Creative: Home Street Garden Center
  • Best Lights: CalFire / Inyo National Forest

Following the parade, downtown Bishop transformed into a bustling holiday celebration, complete with vendor markets at Academy Street and Eastside Guesthouse & Bivy, fire pits, food trucks, and family-friendly activities throughout many parking lots. Local shops and restaurants stayed open late, welcoming visitors and adding to the festive atmosphere.

The event was made possible through the partnership of the Bishop Chamber of Commerce, the City of Bishop, and the dedication of many volunteers and community co-sponsors.

“Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make this wonderful evening successful,” organizers shared. “It was a beautiful kickoff to the holiday season.”
