Bishop lost its season opener against Burroughs 10-0 in 5 innings on the hill for the Broncos, Freshman Knox Moffet went 3 innings, had 4 earned runs(ER) on 4 hits(H) walked (BB) 4,1 strikeout (K). Junior Elliot Douda ended the game going 2 innings, allowed 3 ER on 5 Hits, 2 BBs. Collectively, the Broncos defense was solid, just a few well-placed base hits.
Offensively, the Broncos got no hits with Burroughs only allowing 2 base runners on 1BB by Richie Talavera and a catcher interference call for Aiden Frechette.
I’m impressed with the way we held ourselves throughout the game, the maturity level and attitudes of our players in a difficult game showed a lot of class.
