The #MainFire vegetation fire that started on Thursday April 6th near HWY 6/ Wye Road in Bishop, CA is now 75% contained. Firefighters have worked hard to get the blaze under control, utilizing 1 air attack, 4 air tankers, 1 helicopter, 4 hand crews, 10 engines, 2 water tenders, 2 dozers, and 4 Chief Officers. The cause of the fire has been determined to be a bird strike to an overhead power line. Firefighters will continue to mop up and strengthen containment lines over the coming days.
