Eastern Sierra News for August 11, 2024

Hello everyone, this is Adylene, Yanzel Figueroa’s mom. On August 2nd my amazing boy and some of his friends on his high school football team were involved in a horrible car collision on highway 395. He and two of his teammates were life-flighted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. First of all I would like to thank all the paramedics, first responders, and officers who helped with this horrible car crash. Without them I do not want to imagine what could’ve happened. Secondly, I would like to thank all the personnel in Renown for being supportive and attentive to my baby boy’s needs.
Yanzel had an emergency surgery on August 3rd due to having internal bleeding. He had about 10 inches of his small intestine, and the valve that connects to his intestines, removed. He is recovering, but currently still in the ICU.
I am reaching out to our mighty community for help. Please consider helping our amazing 14 year old boy and our family during this difficult time. Yanzel is such a loving, caring boy who was looking forward to his freshman year, and most importantly to playing on the MHS football team. His recovery will be long as he needs to relearn how to walk, sit up, bathe, eat, go up and down the stairs, and do daily activities. With God’s help there is nothing he won’t be able to do.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people involved in this terrible accident.
And last but not least, I would like to thank everyone who has reached out and prayed for my baby boy and his teammates. May god bless you all!
