AT the Oct. 27th City Council meeting, the City Council gave direction to initiate the permitting process for DEMOLITION of the Bishop Visitors Center building (the permitting process is expected to take a year). Despite months of public attendance at City Council meetings and public comments of overwhelming support of saving the Visitors Center, and without a single public comment of opposition, the Council ignored the communities wishes and failed to act on the concerns of the people they are elected to represent. The City Council are meant to be PUBLIC SERVANTS given the publics trust to prioritize the publics wishes and interests, not to further their own ideas, plans, preferences, and agendas.
