In Loving Memory of Jean Lorraine (David) Bengochia
April 10, 1955 – October 1, 2025

Jean Lorraine (David) Bengochia entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on October 1, 2025, surrounded in peace and love by her family.

Born on April 10, 1955, in Globe, Arizona, Jean was the cherished third daughter of Alexander David and Geraldine (Stone) David. For over five decades, she made her home in the Owens Valley, where she faithfully lived out her calling as a devoted wife, loving mother, and compassionate nurse.

Jean shared 49 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Tony Bengochia, and was a proud and nurturing mother to their sons, Jerry and Owen. Her life was a reflection of deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family. Jean’s caring spirit extended far beyond her home. As a Registered Nurse, she selflessly served her community, most often working night shifts caring for long-term patients in Lone Pine and on the Med/Surg floor at Northern Inyo Hospital. Her gentle hands and kind heart brought comfort to countless lives.

A woman of grace and humility, Jean found joy in the simple things—playing the piano for church services, reading and studying Scripture, and cherishing time with loved ones. Her quick wit and subtle sense of humor brightened many lives, and her love for games, especially chess, often brought family and friends together.

Jean’s legacy of kindness, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tony Bengochia; her sons, Jerry and Owen Bengochia; and her sisters, Ruth, Beverly, and Margie and brother Dan. She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and treasured friends.  Jean is proceeded in death by her parents, Alexander and Geraldine David, sisters Gail, Carol, Charlotte and brother Mark.

Her family will always remember her as a loving woman whose warmth, compassion, and deep faith touched all who crossed her path.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 10th at Brune Mortuary from 4pm-6pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 10:00 a.m. at The Valley Presbyterian Church, 2912 W. Line St, Bishop, CA. Following the service, Jean will be laid to rest at Woodman Cemetery in Big Pine at 11:30 a.m. A potluck reception will be held at the Valley Presbyterian Church after the services.
