BISHOP CA – At tonight’s Bishop Unified School Board Meeting, the most anticipated agenda item 13.1 which was a proposal to agendize and vote on adoption of the Redlands USD Title IX Resolution. The public comment was pretty split down the middle with some high schoolers even given a comment. Thereafter, the board had discussions which had pretty good arguments for and against the resolution. In the end, the board President Dr. Claudia Moya-Tanner decided the majority decision of the board is to not proceed with advancing the resolution to the agenda. Which effectively ended the discussion. This is common in board meetings, especially for contentious and non-urgent items which seemed to be the consensus of the majority. The full article on tonight’s board meeting will be posted in the coming days.
