Reps. Kevin Kiley and Jim Jordan Call on FireAid to Provide Breakdown of Nonprofits That Received Funds
WASHINGTON – Reps. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) and Jim Jordan (R-OH), Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, have sent a letter to FireAid asking for a complete breakdown of all nonprofits that received funds, including the amount, date, recipient, and purpose of each expenditure. FireAid has until September 2, 2025, to produce these documents and information.
Of the approximately $100 million raised, FireAid has already granted $75 million to nearly 200 nonprofits. The Representatives also called for the remaining $25 million to be distributed by the end of the year.
FireAid held a benefit concert in January 2025 and raised over $100 million for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires, however reports indicate the money went to nonprofits that mostly have nothing to do with fire relief.
