On November 28, 2024 at approximately 1643 hours, CHP Bishop was notified of a single vehicle rollover crash located on County Road, just north of Reynolds Road. Bishop CHP units responded to the scene and upon arrival, they located a silver Toyota Highlander that was approximately 70 feet off the roadway and had sustained major rollover damage. During this time, officers detained a male party on scene, whom identified himself as the driver. Officers also located an unresponsive female who was partially pinned underneath the vehicle. Due to the severity of this crash, the female party had sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was transported to Northern Inyo Hospital for treatment. Following medical treatment, the driver was then booked into the Inyo County Jail. This collision is still under investigation.
