Margaret Allyn Jaeger

July 24, 1939 – November 11, 2024

Margaret Allyn Jaeger, a cherished mother, grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Bishop, California, on November 11, 2024, at the age of 85.

Born on July 24, 1939, in Schurz, Nevada, Margaret was the daughter of Emily Bernard-Dondero and Walter Bernard. She grew up with a deep connection to her roots, later becoming an advocate for her heritage and a beloved figure within her community.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Karl James Jaeger Sr.; her sons, Kit Strasser, Kenny Strasser, and Kevin Jaeger; and her parents. She is survived by her loving children, Karl Jaeger, Kody Jaeger, and Kelly Denver; her grandchildren, Emily Jaeger and Kolin Dennis; and her brothers, Vernon Bernard and Norman Bernard.

A graduate of Bishop Union High School in 1958, Margaret held various jobs throughout her life, but her true passion was found in her role as a cook and driver for the Education Center of the Bishop Paiute Tribe. Her work brought her great joy and fulfillment, allowing her to touch the lives of countless individuals with her warmth and generosity.

Margaret will be remembered for her kind heart, her sharp sense of humor, and her unwavering resilience. She was a beacon of strength and love to those around her, leaving an indelible mark on her family, friends, and community.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Barlow Lane Gym, located at 405 North Barlow Lane in Bishop, California. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to gather, honor her memory, and share in the legacy of her love and laughter.

Margaret’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
