Dennis Lee Habegger passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, at Northern Inyo Hospital, following a long illness. Dennis
was born on May 30, 1944, in Glendale, California, to Oliver and Vera Habegger (affectionately known as Ollie and Bing). In
1955, the family established Habegger’s Resort on the South Fork of Bishop Creek, where Dennis spent much of his youth,
working alongside his father in the family business.

After graduating from Bishop High School, Dennis went on to work for various local businesses, including Bishop Imports,
Luther Motors, Big Pine Trucking, and Inyo Truck Services. Eventually retiring as a heavy equipment mechanic from Caltrans.
Dennis was an avid lover of horses and the Sierra Nevada backcountry. He cherished the 􀆟me spent riding and exploring the
wilderness with Art Shober and other local packers.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jean Habegger; his son, Brian Habegger (Marie); stepdaughters Angie Tapley and
Staci Eldridge (Jeff Aukee); stepson Chris Eldridge (Heidi); ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also
survived by his brother, Phil Habegger (Katie); his nephews, Steve and John Habegger; and his niece, Kim Brunton.

A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held in the spring of 2025.
