Vicki Ann Gabriel was born in Prescott, Arizona on July 3rd, 1948, to her parents Pauline and William Nichols.
She graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Speech-language pathology. She also studied music and was an accomplished pianist. She was playing at a restaurant for diners when she met her future husband, Jerry Gabriel. Vicki was homecoming princess and named Jerry as her driver in the parade procession. Jerry and Vicki were married in Eudora, Kansas on April 23rd, 1967. They made their home in Sacramento, CA where they welcomed their first child, Pasha. In 1974 they moved to Bishop, CA after Jerry was transferred to the district 9 Caltrans office.
Jerry and Vicki were very involved in their church throughout their lives. Vicki had a heart for serving the less fortunate and for many years she cooked breakfast at the Salvation Army every Sunday. Jerry and Vicki had three more children: Noel, William, and Daniel. Vicki was one of the first homeschool pioneers in the area. She joined a quilting group and loved the friendships she made there. She won first prize for her pumpkin pie at the Tri-county fair.
Vicki was blessed with 8 grandchildren and became a great-grandmother on September 3rd, 2024. She was full of strength and spunk even though she struggled with multiple illnesses for most of her adult life. God took her to her Heavenly home on November 2nd, 2024.
Vicki is survived by her husband Jerry Gabriel, daughter Pasha Kennedy and her husband Bill Kennedy, daughter Noel Guacheno and her husband Gary Guacheno, son William Gabriel and brother Larry Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Gabriel.
