Dorena (Rena) Mae Walton was born December 31, 1928 in Providence Rhode

Island and passed away in Bishop on October 16, 2024

Dorena (Our mother) lived a very full life on the East Coast and then in the

Owens Valley. Dorena loved the Owens Valley and spent a lot of her life in

the mountains on hikes and exploring all the trails in the valley and mountains

in a dune buggy. She had an extraordinary lust for life. In mid-life she took up

quilting which soon became an obsession, she even won a pair of first place

ribbons for her quilts, which she continued until her sight failed As she got

older her greatest enjoyment were her great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to Mammoth Orthopedics

and all the staff, for the amazing friendships she gained there and the huge

impact they made in her life she will miss you all greatly (especially Bart).

Dorena had a wonderful circle of close friends that kept her going to the ripe

old age of 95, Thank you Edla Gerard, Joanne Harney, Shane Edel, Kathern

Daniels, Vicki Michener, Sarah Lang, Chelsie Brown, Laura Costa and Doris

Ives

Dorena was preceded in Death by Fred Gaisford (husband) Robert Walton

(husband), Edward and Carol Walton. She leaves behind many loved ones

including, Kris & Rebecca Vradenburg (Daughter) Chet & Sandra Wilkinson

(Daughter), Garrett and Josie Michener(Granddaughter), Kyle & Brittany

Vradenburg (step grandson), Easton & Harper Michener(great-grandchildren)

Russell Barry, Donald Walton, Edward Walton (nephews) Daniel, Eliie and Sam

Walton, Alvin & Irene Reeves, Scott Moynahan, her dog DUKE and many, many

friends

A celebration of Life will be announced for a later date in the spring.
