Area Forecast Discussion
Owens Valley / Mammoth Lakes / Mono County / Death Valley
Dennis Mattinson / Sierra Atmospheric Forecaster
Synopsis – Mon Oct 14 2024
Over the weekend we had a weak system hovering over N. Nevada, bringing down temps some 3 – 5 degrees, nearer to normal. Fair weather looks likely today and Tuesday. Then by Thursday / Friday, all eyes turn West, as a trough from the NW begins to slide down into our area. So a slight chance of rain / snow showers in Mammoth Thursday night. But most notable to many will be a substantial cool down of ~10 degrees from Wednesday into Friday. Temps then actually drop below normal on Friday (highs in Bishop 64°), the coldest day of the week and the coldest day we have had in a very long time. More updates to come…DMATT
