Bishop Youth Football continued with week 6 of play on Saturday against our high desert rivals IWV.
Freshman Team:
Played great against an older and biggerIWV team, kept them within 1 TD.
Daniel Fierro: 1 TD for a 70 yd run & 7 tackles.
Alonzo Loya: 10 tackles & 70 yds.
Hunter Chudy: 22 yds & 5 tackles.
Carter Reynolds: 9 tackles
Laythen Madera: 2 tackles
Jake Jacobsen: 3 tackles
Towano Shay: 5 tackles, 2 of which were game changing.
Maverick Scott: 7 tackles.
Freshmen with a tough loss 6-12.
Sophomore Team:
QB Jase Swager with a touchdown pass to Michael Kane

Offense
Tk Gustie: 12 carries for 85 yds, 3 passes for 35 yds & 1 TD
Casen berkovatz: 8 carries for 40 yds
Emmett Bocanegra:10 carries for 40 yds
Itzae Perez: 6 carries for 35 yds
Max Duenas: 2 receptions, 45 running yds & 1 TD
Defense
Tk Gustie: 10 tackles & 4 TFL
Albert Saulque: 8 tackles & 2 sacks
Ethan Fuller: 5 tackles & 2 sacks
Max duenas: 7 tackles
Jasper Andreas: 3 tackles & 1 sack
Bentley Henriquez: 1 sack & 4 tackles
Emmett Bocanegra: 5 tackles
The JV defense played stellar and flew to the ball. Great team effort on the defensive side of the ball with a great game ending loss on the last drive. JV youth Broncos lost 6-12.
Varsity Team:
Broncos offense was led by Oscar Henriquez with 2 TD’s and 1 extra point. Dominic Barlow 1 TD and Clifton Paco 1 extra point. Defense was led by Lane Davis and Oscar Henriquez both with 8 tackles each. Jacob Marquez, Jasper Barnes & Tim Crowder with multiple tackles. Tim Crowder with a defensive fumble recovery. The Varsity Broncos had back and forth action with 2 strong teams, unfortunately the Broncos lost 20-42.
The Bishop Youth Football’s next games will be AWAY against the Bakersfield Hawks Saturday, 10/12. Freshmen at 10 am, Sophomores at noon, JV at 2pm and Varsity at 4pm.
