Area Forecast Discussion – Tue Aug 20 2024

Not much change in the short term forecast package, as an EPAC trough remains in place, bringing a SW flow aloft. Dry breezy weather then persists, with critical fire weather conditions. By Thursday, a new trough will develop over the PACNW and travel down over the CA / OR border. With this setup, a cooler air mass will be in place and high temps are likely to drop below normal over the weekend! Stay tuned…DMATT
