Area Forecast Discussion – Mon Jul 08 2024

We will still be under an Excessive Heat Warning until at least July 11. Numerous locations in our area tied or broke records Saturday, including Bishop, Las Vegas and Death Valley. Records (for both high temps and low temps) will continue to fall this week around the area. All due to a near 600 decameter ridge of high pressure with its center, now sitting directly overhead. Major (level 3) to Extreme (level 4) Heat Risk will continue to spread across the region this week. With this, Death Valley is expected to hit 130° on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!…DMATT
