In the pre-dawn hours Sunday morning, Bishop Police arrested a juvenile for attempted robbery of a motel with a board.

According to Bishop Police Detective Dave Jepson, an intoxicated juvenile is alleged to have entered the La Quinta Motel carrying a board.

When the juvenile allegedly threatened to rob the night clerk, a brief struggle ensued and the clerk was able to take the board away, according to Police. Police say that the juvenile fled the scene, but ran into an on-duty officer who made the arrest.

The juvenile was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm (the board), criminal threats, and burglary.

Detective Jepson reports that the clerk suffered minor injuries in the struggle, but the clerk did not seek medical attention.
