“Good morning, skiers and riders. This is Johanna with your Mammoth Mountain snow report. Mammoth Mountain will reopen Sunday, December 28th, with lower mountain lift operations only. Lifts from Canyon and Eagle Lodges are expected to open at 8:30 a.m. with terrain expanding towards Main Lodge as conditions allow.
Main, Canyon, and Eagle Lodges will be open with all services available. Tamarack Cross-Country Ski Center will also open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Snowmobile Adventures will be offering tours.
With deep snow on the mountain, tree wells and snow immersion suffocation are a real hazard. The idea of ‘no friends on a powder day’ needs to take a back seat. Stick with your crew, avoid the base of trees, and if you fall, do your best to fall feet first.
