Input This
on December 19, 2023 at 4:55 pm
Our tax dollars at work (not):
So, Inyo County wants public input on “strategic planning” for the County’s future.
And to solicit said “input,” it issues a press release on December 15 (not published in the press until today December 19) asking for our thoughts by December 31.
I.e., in less than two weeks, during the busiest time of the year for most folks.
Thanks Inyo County officialdom, very respectful of the public who pays your salaries.
Another reason Supervisor Grifffiths needs to go, IMHO.
Dude, do you REALLY think anytype of public input accually is even heard, let alone acted on?.
A good example of that, Whitney Portal Road being wiped-out from that mega-flooding a few months back, causing a tremendous hardship for the locals living in the Alabama Hills, never mind for the tourists visiting, where so many preach to us on a daily basis how important that is for us to be able to “survive” and live in the Owens Valley, leaving all no choice but to travel a dangerous winding road or an extra 5 or 6 mile out-of-town drive on a someplaces one-way street, and also dangerous in some spots to either get to their jobs, then get home,or visit a couple of the most popular tourist areas in the State….little to nothing done with anytype of repairs, rumors banted about waiting and bickering on contracts with companies to do the repairs, which, at this current pace won’t get done until at least late Fall 2024,and all but ruining local fishing in Lone Pine Creek for everyone for the upcoming Spring and Summer fishing season…
You think going to the “authorities” and bringing that up would change much ?
My guess ?
Nope
Is it possible to put the link in this chat forum? I can’t access it through the press release.
I sincerely hope everyone will bring their ideas and opinions into this survey to help inform decision making and our County’s future (rather than leaving them here where they will not be considered in the County’s process…).

Well, why don’t you offer this as feedback, then, since you’re so engaged and appear to have the time anyway?
