Forecast Discussion – Fri Dec 15 2023 to Sunday 17 2023
A sharp upper ridge axis aligning with the Sierra Crest brings quiet weather to our Forecast Area into the weekend. By Sunday we see a transition pattern developing as two cut-off lows inch towards our area. I’ll only talk about the first low, later Sunday into Tuesday, as the second low’s track is still in doubt. By Monday snow levels drop down to 8,000 feet. My best estimate right now thru Tuesday, Main Lodge 8 – 13 inches and Summit 10 – 15 inches. All of this while the Owens Valley looks to pick up a slight chance of rain / snow showers. More updates Monday…DMATT
