The varsity Broncos hosted Cal City on Thursday night and played an exciting match.  Unfortunately, the ravens showed a little extra fight and won the match in 5 sets.  Bishop went up early in the first 2 sets winning 30-28, 25-22, but Cal City battled back 21-25, 14-25, 13-15.

When the young Broncos lost their only senior in game 3 due to Lilly Morrison  feeling lightheaded and not being sure footed, the absence of her leadership and play were noticeable as Bishop scrambled to adjust the lineup.
Some notable highlights:
Meghenna Westervelt and Riley Van Nest showed up to play-their defense was phenomenal, leading the team and refusing to let the ball hit the floor with 24 and 23 digs respectively.
Meghenna was joined by Sophie Dishion in the serve receive category , collectively taking over half of the team passes between the two of them.
At the net, Peyton Kalk led the hitting category with 11 kills.  An amazing 61% of her swings resulted in a kill.  Liz Ellsworth defended the net with 5 blocks during the match.
Delaney Kalk and Riley Van Nest led the serving category with 5 and 4 aces, and 11 points each scored while serving.
The Broncos travel to Boron on Tuesday 9/26.
