Join Inyo National Forest staff and many of its conservation partners in volunteer projects or special interpretive events around the Visitor Center all day. Fun and learning for all ages!

Golden Trout Lakes Trail maintenance in Onion Valley, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Join Inyo National Forest staff and partners with Friends of the Inyo to partake in re-benching trail tread, moving large rocks, clearing drainages, disguising social trails and more. National Public Lands Day (NPLD) fosters a strong connection between people and the environment, educating and cultivating environmental stewards. It’s also a “Fee-Free Day” where entrance fees are waived at national parks and public lands. With support from federal and state agencies, corporate sponsors, and nonprofits, NPLD ensures resilient natural spaces for generations to come, encouraging volunteering and environmental engagement.
