Mono Arts Council’s 46th Annual Arts on the 4th Festival July 1-4 2023

46th Annual Festival Announced Featuring Artists, Live Music, Food and Drinks

June 22, 2023 – Mono Arts Council (MAC) announces its 46th annual Arts on the 4th Festival, July 1-4, 2023. The festival will feature top-quality original art from national and regional artists, on-site food, local music performances, and creative activities, in the Footloose Sports parking lot at 3043 Main Street, Mammoth Lakes, California.

Arts on the 4th is MAC’s yearly kickoff fundraising event that will feature artists from around the country showcasing everything from fine art to handmade goods in many mediums. The festival runs July 1-3, 10:00am – 6:00pm, and July 4, 9:00am – 4:00pm. Approximately 50 artists will be displaying and selling their work, such as David Pollock, Bob Saxon, Cathy Enright, and many more.

Top-notch local music performances rotate through all four days of the festival at Marty’s Music Corner. Performers include the Felt Cutouts, Bodie 601 Trio, Leina’ala, Skipping Stones, and Priscilla Hawkins. (Find the full schedule at https://www.monoarts.org/bandschedule.)

Delicious food can be purchased from The Rolling Chef 395, and local beer from Distant Brewing can be purchased at Tony’s Tavern, all four days.

“We are grateful that our community has supported this event for so many years. The event has now become the main fundraising event for Mono Arts Council, raising funds for our arts programs throughout Mono County,” says Kristin Reese, Executive Director, Mono Arts Council. “This year we have several amazing sponsors for the event, Footloose Sports, who has been our host sponsor since 2001, Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation, Volunteer Eastern Sierra, Mountain Living, The Stove Restaurant, and Mammoth Hospital.”

MAC is returning with their Kids Art Booth, where MAC Teaching Artists will guide everyone through fun, easy, quick art projects (with several to choose from each day), and Splash Art Booth, making its 3rd annual appearance, where participants purchase raffle tickets which give them five paint filled balloons and entries to win a paint splashed, three foot by five foot canvas.

Debuting this year are a Face Painting Booth (with many fun design options), and a Silent Auction featuring a wide range of art from local artists and previous festivals. Attendees can also support the MAC fundraiser by purchasing merchandise at their booth, including trucker hats, t-shirts, totes, stainless tumblers, and more.

About Mono Arts Council

MAC provides visual and performing arts education for K-12 students in school, after school, and during the summer.  We ensure every student in Mono County has access to this VITAL part of their education. Arts education increases test scores and attendance. Making art supports good mental health and provides opportunities for social-emotional learning. Our adult programs, including Art & Wine, the gallery, and the Mammoth Lakes Arts on the 4th Festival help us raise money and awareness for arts education and give local artists a place to showcase their talents.
