Mule’s Injuries Not Likely Human-Caused
A mule discovered with severe lacerations in the Bishop area does not appear to be the victim of assault.
Investigators with the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office have looked into the incident and, following their investigation, do not have any evidence of foul play. They will continue to investigate the matter, however at this time it does not appear to be a malicious incident.
The mule’s owner discovered the injuries on the morning of June 2 at their pasture off Brockman Lane in Bishop. The lacerations included a two-inch-wide gash across the throat and a 10-inch-long cut across the top of the animal’s right hip.

Get the gallows ready! Oh wait, we are woke and don’t do that anymore here.

Or we all can swing to the “right”,and listen to a bunch of their big ,tough talk, their bunchs of lies and no real solutions to the problems…and then send them our money.
And after that, bow-down and worship those that are saying all the lies and the big talk….with no real solutions..after sending them our paychecks.
If the ICSO “thorough investigation ” claims no ” foul play, and no malicious intent “,makes you wonder what happened to this Mule, apparently in a field with no barbed-wire present ?…
I guess it means no need for concern….and maybe something that will just go away in time, like other worriesome things recently going on in the valley that are being “investigated” and are “open cases” and no longer mentioned or talked much about.
Mule belongs to Rainbow Pack Station
Not barbed wire, 3 additional equines brought to Bishop Vet Clinic, 2 from Bishop area, 1 from Ridgecrest. Similar wounds. Same day or next day .
My pack station operations are adjacent to Rainbow’s .
Spoke with two Sheriffs on Rainbow’s working area who responded to a post placed on FB concerning the request for any information as to the injuries. My information is from the owner of Rainbow Pack Station who got this information from Bishop Vet Hospital when he took his mule there for treatment .
Seeing the post from Sheriff’s office is unexpected …if not human, then what caused the injuries to the mule on Brockman Ranch and to 3 others from different locations?
We are all viligant. Neither the owner of the mule , nor myself have heard from the Sheriff’s department on any conclusion, except for this post , as of today .
Both outfits had done extensive research on the pastures and found zilch. No other animals injured.
The mule is recovering from the injuries..
Definitely was a slice with heavy metal object to penetrate the depth and length of injury according to Rainbow Pack Station owner, who was in conversation with vet upon treating his mule. Fortunately, the jugular vein was missed by a fraction of an inch or so – this is the location of 1 of the 2 injuries .

I hope the Mule recovers quickly and well..
With what you’re saying, and which I believe, makes one wonder why the Inyo Sheriff’s Dept. released their statement saying “not a malicious incident ” and the Mule “wasn’t a victim of assault” , doesn’t it ?
And strange, you or the owner of the Mule weren’t told of “their findings”, other than reading it on this Sierra Wave post.
Thinking maybe, probably them hoping with their statement released….and now hoping swept under the rug and it just goes away, with nothing more said or done about it..
Sad, but typical…..
