SIERRA FEB 24 2023 — DMATTs WEEKEND REPORT
A closed low off the coast, picking up tons of moisture as it moves over water, will move inland today into Saturday. As its deformation axis warps into the region, heavy snow (blizzard conditions likely) in Mono County (Mammoth Main 40 – 50 inches & Summit 50 – 60 inches) and even Inyo County (Bishop 6 -12 inches). The center of that low then pushes East Saturday night and rain / snow chances go with it. A little break in the action on Sunday, for a brief respite. Then like a broken record, yet another Pacific storm affects our Forecast Area Monday into Tuesday…DMATT
DMATTs Weather Fact: Moderate to heavy snow paired with strong gusty winds, will create dangerous travel conditions, with periods of blizzard “white out” conditions in the Sierra.
