Over the last several years I’ve become increasingly aware of the terrible condition of the forest in many parts of the area in question, particularly in the vicinity of the Inyo Craters, that I visit often on skis in the winter. The number and density a dead trees finally is getting attention! Considering the fuel density and number of first-time dispersed campers, it’s almost a miracle that there hasn’t been a serious or even catastrophic fire already. Nobody wants to see the forest clear-cut or anything like it, but that’s not the issue here.
