With Labor Day weekend upon us, we’re experiencing a major heatwave in California, which increases the likelihood of Flex Alerts. With heat waves come increased temperatures, stress, and pressure on the power grid. If we want to avoid preventable power outages, we must work together during this heatwave.
Conserve energy during Flex Alerts, generally between 4PM and 9PM, by turning up your air conditioning to 78 degrees and using fans when possible and switching off unused lights and appliances. Heatwaves are hard on all Californians, but we can avoid preventable power outages if we work together. For more information go to: https://energyupgradeca. org/flex-alert.
