The County is considering two possible BALLOT MEASURES in November for voters to decide:
1. If the TOT, or BED TAX, should be increased
in the face of rising operating costs.
2. Whether CAMPGROUNDS AND RV PARKS
should be added to the TOT Code.

What is the current TOT?
You could just read all of the articles, but I will help you out. 12%
Tax them all and absentee homeowners
Absentee homeowners do pay taxes.
I’m talking about a special absentee homeowners tax at a higher rate that would be held in a trust fund to eventually build 1 bedroom apartments where a single or a couple could rent cheaply for 5 yrs. right now the absentee homeowners is running at close to 40 % yes aspendale, habbeggers have always been resort like but bishop is not a resort town at 40 % that’s roughly 800 homes businesses can’t find people to work because it’s to expensive to rent want to solve some of the homelessness this is a real start and boy it’s not going to be popular the supervisors won’t be happy .just a thought to get the seed planted and maybe something positive will happen.
Oh yeah increase the population by 40% and you will be complaining about that next.
Not complaining just trying to get some answers to some questions what’s interesting is the population has remained unchanged whats up with that and I’m sure the small businesses wouldn’t complain
All homeowners have to pay school district taxes. I don’t think many absentees have kids in school. But if they were allowed to rent their houses, the tot would flow! And don’t think that they should rent long term, they won’t. They want to come and use their house periodically.
