The Inyo County Elections Office will convene an Election Observer Panel to observe activities associated with the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election.
Any interested member of the public is invited to participate.
Typically, members of the panel visit one or more polling places on Election Day or the
central ballot counting center to observe tabulation of ballots on election night. Panel
members are also invited to observe staff at the Elections Department. Members of the
panel will be provided with the information they need to participate in these activities.
To participate on the Election Observer Panel please notify the Elections Department by
mail, by phone at 760-878-0220 or by e-mail at [email protected] as soon as
possible. If your organization would like to be represented on the Election Observer
Panel, please include the name of your representative in your response.
The Elections Department will meet with the panel members to explain their role in
greater detail and to provide them with the information they will need.

Believe it or not,I was just about to say the same thing,reminding Steve,that I’ve mailed my votes in for over the 22 years I’ve lived in the Owens Valley.
And LONG before trump made his claims of “mail-in voter fraud” when he lost “biglie” in 2020.
With the coming elections,both the mid-terms and the 2024 Presidential election,we all got to be ready,for the annoying comments,and the laughs it’s going to bring us all….again….with comments much like Steve’s comment above.
Probably hearing “they stole the election again ! ”
And maybe rumors like we heard before in 2020,even here in the little ole’ Owens Valley,how some so-called “poll observers” should and will enforce and maybe attempt to intimidate some into voting “their way”..actually a rumor we were hearing in Lone Pine at Statham Hall,them maybe showing up,dressed in red and taking place.
But,of course and once again,all talk,meant to scare some,but I doubt very many planning on voting that way.
Mail-in voting,like you say,has been going on for years…and will continue for many years to come.
And going to the ballot boxes will continue to be a safe place to cast your ballot without intimidation.
Dave, nowhere in this article does it mention Trump but yet you can’t go without bringing up his name.

Sadly Trump is indeed relevant to the topic, conversation. Sadly he’s still spreading his big lie saying that he won the 2020 election due to voter fraud etc. But he lost in a crushing defeat well over a year ago and just can’t get over it. Same goes with most of his supporters, it’s just ludicrous and baseless.
Trump is why we have election observers in Inyo County, and new voter suppression and disenfranchisement laws restricting voting access based on the big lie from Trump around the USA. nd the fact is that there’s no evidence of any irregularities in any past election in Inyo County.
There are groups planning to go to the residence of voters registered for mail in voting in some states. They supposedly want to check up on their validity. Yes, Trump and his big lie is why this is occurring no matter the juvenile “Trump Derangement Syndrome” nonsense talking point.
I will never use a voting machine. And there’s no need for election observers. There’s a clear path to voter intimidation with election observers. There’s not a shred of evidence of any massive or measurable voter fraud, election fraud or irregularities whatsoever anywhere in the USA.
