The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office and CalFire announced an active fire south of Tinnemeha burning October 5, 2021. Heavy fuel and moderate wind. If you are traveling on Hwy 395 between Independence and Big Pine please be cautious and aware.  The Aberdeen Fire remains at 25 acres, forward rate of spread has been stopped.  Air Tankers have now been released as extended mop up operations continue.  The cause of the Aberdeen Fire remains under investigation.
