MPM Celebrates International Pollinator Week with Construction of Pollinator Garden in Lone Pine Chamber Courtyard, Joins Wildlife Habitat Council 

In recognition of Pollinator Week, Mojave Precious Metals (“MPM”) has been working in collaboration with the Wildlife Habitat Council to construct a pollinator garden in the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce Courtyard.

June 21 through June 27 marks the international celebration of Pollinator Week.  Pollinator Week is an annual event celebrated internationally in support of pollinator health.

The new garden contains species of native flowering plants to promote biodiversity and support pollinator populations.  The plants are all sourced from a local supplier and are maintained by MPM employees.

For example, MPM recently planted a Joshua Tree (Yucca brevifolia), Virgin’s Bower (Clematis ligusticifolia), and Desert Purple Sage (Salvia dorii), along with other local species.

These particular species support pollinators such as butterflies, bees, moths, bats, hummingbirds, and other animals that feed on the nectar and pollen provided by flowering plants.

“We are excited to see this wonderful community garden flourish and grow for all to enjoy,” said Katie VonSydow, MPM Field Geologist.  “MPM is proud to become an official member of the Wildlife Habitat Council, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with them on efforts just like this.”

MPM recently became an official member of The Wildlife Habitat Council, a highly respected nonprofit organization that promotes habitat conservation and management on corporate lands through partnerships and education. Wildlife Habitat Council members include corporations, conservation organization, and individuals who are dedicated to enhancing and restoring wildlife habitats.
