Scott…No,that’s not it…It’s the “new America”….where ,when clouds form in the sky,and there’s a possibility of rain,people have to be warned and get alerts in order to survive the wetness…on the L.A. news this morning,actually “warnings” telling people to stay home and “not drive unless you have to” because of a storm that might bring an inch of rain…I often wonder how I survived through my lifetime,to where through most of it when it rained,,sometimes a lot,I was able to get through it and still get to my job,do my work,and make it home and get through the night without the authorities ordering me what and what not to do and how to safely live to tell another day.

Scott, actually yes, in answer to your question.
The alert has been on social media for the past couple of days, especially on the Sheriff and CHP-Bishop Facebook pages. Mattinson’s weather reports are local and generally pretty accurate, whereas the weather alert shown actually came out of Las Vegas (weather.gov/vegas).
Curious about the warning, which included invitations for media to conference call, we called just to see if we should be worried. We were told the warning mostly had to do with the area around Las Vegas, which is subject to flash floods and also flooding of its downtown area, and not so much our local area.
