Mammoth Lakes, CA – Mammoth Lakes Recreation announced this week that it has secured a three-year agreement with Mammoth Brewing Company to sponsor the Mammoth Lakes Curling League.Curling is one of fastest-growing winter sports in the country. According to the United States Curling Association the sport’s popularity has swelled to nearly 200 curling clubs and approximately 23,500 curlers across the country. Mammoth Lake’s Curling League was founded in 2017 and was immediately embraced by the community.

“We’ve sold out of team spots since the league’s inception,” says Kat Kelly, Recreation Supervisor for the Town of Mammoth Lakes. “We increased the number of teams this season, but there is still a significant waitlist.”

Funds raised through the Mammoth Brewing Company sponsorship will go directly to support the town’s curling league, including the purchase of a second set of curling stones, which can cost as much as several hundred dollars each.

“At Mammoth Brewing, we are more than just a beverage company. We focus on experiences in the Eastern Sierra, whether it is Bluesapalooza or sitting in our beer garden after outdoor recreation activities, and are proud to be part of the programming for the ice rink and Community Recreation Center,” says Sean Turner, owner of Mammoth Brewing Company and a member of the Town of Mammoth Lakes Recreation Commission.

The Mammoth Brewing Company Curling League will be taking the ice at the Mammoth Lakes Ice Rink on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, now through the end of February.
