Mammoth Lakes, CA – On August 17, 2017, the Mammoth Lakes Police Department and the Mono County Investigative Unit (MCIU) executed a search warrant for child endangerment in the 100 block of Mono Street.
During the course of the search, officers located items in the garage of the home that were consistent with equipment that was being used to illegally convert a controlled substance by chemical extraction.
These items included beakers, utensils, and chemicals. The equipment was subsequently dismantled to ensure there was no danger to the community.
An occupant of the residence, Marisa Rose Graef, was arrested.
Graef was transported to the Mono County Jail and booked on the following charges: 1 felony count of 1203.2 PC: Probation Violation; 1 misdemeanor count of 11364(A) – Possession of Controlled Substance Paraphernalia; 1 felony count of 11379.4 HS – Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance; 1 misdemeanor count of 273(A) PC – Child Endangerment; 1 misdemeanor count of 11350(A) HS – Possession of a Controlled Substance; 1 misdemeanor count of 11377(A) HS – Possession of a Controlled Substance

Maureen…and this is the door that was opened when smoking marijuana was voted on and legalized….opened to all the fools thinking butane and marijuana was an O.K. ,healthy and legal thing to do…. but actually,only a way to get “higher and higher”……in my town,one idiot is saying,once he knows it’s safe and legal to do,he’s going to try to arrange a “party ” in front of the Inyo County Sheriff’s Station,like a “sit-in “,and all smoke-out and get high with his friends….I guess nothing better to do….and this guy wanting to do that,same guy talking and telling others about how he can’t find a job here in town….wonder why ?
Low, get real. They were selling heroin in McDonald’s parking lot when I moved to Mammoth in 2006.
Low-Inyo, you may want to tell that idiot that it’s not legal to burn in public, so if he plans on burning in front of the Sheriff’s office he’ll be cited or arrested, I actually don’t know the penalty.

Watcher obvioulsy you care more about splitting hairs that the real problem. Drugs is a problem regardless of whether it is meth, oil, whatever. There were drugs. There were kids. There is a problem.
I lived down the road from that address in Mammoth Lakes. It always has rented to drug dealers and “less savory.” This situation is so sad on many levels. There has been a serious heroin problem in Mammoth Lakes for the past decade. The Mountain knows about it and does not help their employees, instead they throw them out in the street. The sheriff knows about it but she is busy playing politics. You know Mammoth, there are parents who in good faith, send their kids to Mammoth to have fun and work. Instead the come home addicted to heroin and you just do not care. Mammoth has money for ice rinks and landscaping but not to fight this terrible problem. BTW, this young lady needs help, not judgement, not incarceration.
Agreed, “send their kids to Mammoth to have fun and work” and also to get them out of their house. Sadly some of these kids have already dropped out of college, paid for by their parents.

..Kinda scary thinking these (alleged) meth labs going on up here in our areas and neighborhoods,maybe next door or down the street from us,isn’t it ?
Did you say going up here? That series of rentals is where drug dealers go to live and deal drugs. It has been there for 10 years and the cops do nothing. Never have. It is a shame.
