Press release
The Mammoth Lakes Recreation (MLR) Board of Directors took action at their Board meeting Tuesday evening to conduct a nation-wide search for a new Executive Director for the organization effective July 1, 2017.
MLR Board President Tom Johnson thanked Rich Boccia, the founding Executive Director of the organization for his exemplary work over these past nineteen months. “Rich was able to work with the board to build a strong foundation and proudly represented MLR as an organization in this community. Nobody could have accomplished what he has done in such a short period of time to put MLR on the map.”
Boccia stated that “It is with great pleasure that I have served this community over these two years as the founding Executive Director for Mammoth Lakes Recreation. I fell in love with Mammoth Lakes many years ago and have been blessed to spend time serving this community!”
“My role as the founding Executive Director with Mammoth Lakes Recreation was to work with the board to build a solid foundation that prepares both the organization and the community for the future. The future is knocking on the door and we need to take that next step as an organization and as a community.”
Johnson stated that he and Boccia will work with the MLR Board to lead the recruitment process for a new Executive Director as MLR seeks a candidate who is recognized as a national leader in the Outdoor Recreation Industry, with experience working in the non-profit world and a background in fund development to support a variety of programs and projects that are elements of the Mammoth Lakes Recreation strategic plan.
Mammoth Lakes Recreation will continue to evolve as an organization with a governing board that is dedicated to touching and creating the future.
