A month ago, former Mammoth School Superintendent Rich Boccia suddenly resigned. Officials did not explain why, but within a week they appointed retired educator Lou Stewart as the Interim Superintendent. Now, the Mammoth School Board and Mono Office of Education have focused on the search and hiring of a new, permanent superintendent.
The School Board planned a special board meeting for Monday at 4pm in the District Office Conference Room. The only item on the agenda is Superintendent Search. The agenda says that the “Board, staff and Mono County Office of Education will work together on a timeline and strategy for the superintendent search process.”
The Office of Education issued a public announcement on Friday that says their agency will conduct the search for Mammoth’s new superintendent. The release also says that there will be a series of community input forums related to the search.
Mono County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Stacey Adler, invited residents of the school district to give input on criteria for hiring the next superintendent.
The forums happen Tuesday, April 9th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in the high school multi-purpose room and from 5:45pm to 7:15 pm on the same day at the elementary school multi-purpose room. Wednesday, April 10th, officials will hold the final forum from 5:30pm to 7pm at the middle school multi-purpose room.
