Following Thursday’s Mammoth Hospital Board meeting, Administrator Gary Boyd issued a brief statement which confirmed that the Hospital will hire a new Chief Financial Officer after the departure of the current CFO.
As we had reported, CFO James Hughey will leave Mammoth after only three months as the hospital CFO. Why will he leave? Boyd had said that the small town atmosphere of Mammoth had more of an impact on Hughey than he had anticipated.
In his statement, Boyd said of Hughey, “While he only recently joined us, he has identified a number of improvements at SMHD and has helped us to begin to make changes in the organization.”
Boyd went on to announce that the hospital district has hired a new CFO, David Rollins. Boyd said that Rollins will come to Mammoth from a Critical Access Hospital in Bandon, Oregon, where he has served since 2006. Before his work in Oregon, Rollins worked as CFO at a hospital in Kansas. He also worked in the private sector at Raytheon and InterVoice Network Solutions.
Boyd said Rollins and his family will relocate to Mammoth in August and go to work at the hospital Augusts 24th.
