Francis Gregory West, also known as Frank or Sonny, passed away on Tuesday, August 4^th, 2026 at the age of 85 in Bishop, Ca.

Frank was born in Bishop on February 16th,1941, to Dallas Doris Dean and  William Maurice West.

He was the proud owner of “Frank West Construction”. Frank not only taught construction but he himself built many homes and buildings throughout the Owens Valley during his lifetime. He loved working on vehicles, spending time in his garden and hunting with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Frank is survived by his wife, Ernestine West; his son Qwina West Sr and wife Irma; his daughters, Annette and husband Richard Dondero; Angelena and husband Don Cortez; Wasuyaa West and Jason Rinehart; Tawaanee and husband Horacio Rodriguez; his many grandchildren, Lena Dondero, Dayle Dondero, Aaron Roy Dondero, Gene Dondero, Paige Sills, Thomas Sills, Lance Sills, Serena Vega, Qwina West Jr., Aunwahu West, Usungwapu West, Jaden Davis, Tavien Davis, Julian Rodriguez, Teigen Rodriguez, Moran West, Kayden Rinehart, Jason Rinehart Jr., Evaleah Rinehart; 9 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; his brother, Robert Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank is preceded in death by his son, Aaron Lance West; his brother, Jim Jennings; and his sister, Roseanne Osborn.

Services for Frank will be held at the Barlow Lane Gym on August 29^th, 2026, at 10:00am.

A potluck luncheon will follow the services.
